Поляки продолжают давать славного пенделя корпорациям с их дурацкими традициями:

results are the best proof that that we have the right approach. You
don’t need draconian DRM to have good sales and you don’t need costly
DLC to have good financial results.“You just need to treat your customers fair, and you get not only
financial results, but fans admiration which for us is absolutely
priceless.”

Версия Ведьмака 2 2.0 будет иметь много разных дополнений и исправлений.

Так же, их позиция насчет скачиваемых дополнений и патчей не может не доставлять славной польской прямотой:

- What is CDP’s feeling towards DLC generally? Is it a positive trend within games? What do you see as the problems with it?

Badowski: We don’t see the idea as wrong, but we definitely _don’t like
to see gamers treated like dairy cows_ that are primed for milking. All
too often, DLC is seen as an additional revenue opportunity. That’s not
bad in itself – we’re not only in this industry to make games, we’re
also here to do business.

Anyway, our approach is different and relatively simple. All DLC for the
PC version is and will remain FREE. That’s not likely to be the story
for the Xbox version, because of certain Microsoft policies that need to
be followed. But on PC, once you buy our game, you don’t need to worry
about any additional costs – we will provide all updates, including
those featuring new content, for free.

- RPS: What was the mood in the studio like once The Witcher 2 had shipped? Was it relief at having shipped , or a feeling that there was more work to do? A mix of both?

Some “game industry experts” even suggested that we should produce fewer
patches, or at least refrain from mentioning all the corrections and
changes in the readme files, as this creates the impression that the
game was unfinished. That’s just the wrong way of thinking to me, and it
goes against our company values. Hiding facts? Taking a manipulative
stance towards our customers? Come on – that’s pure bull****!

Сама игра, кстати, представляет собой хоть и отстримлайненое, но весьма хардкорное по сравнению с современными играми приключение, с клевыми интригами и запоминающимися персонажами. Уж точно лучше Драгон Эйдж 2.

Всегда забавно смотреть, как какая-то компания прекрасно себя чувствует не делая всякой фигни, раздражающей клиентов, хотя ее конкуренты и их упертые фанаты не перестают долбить, что эта фигня абсолютно необходима для бизнеса и выживания.
